ABOUT US

Inalproces S.A. started in 2004 with the idea of creating superior quality snacks made with unique natural ingredients from South America, using raw materials from Ecuador and Peru.

We first launched plantain chips in small bags for airlines and bus companies. Then, in 2009, we decided to diversify and started producing vegetable chips, which were complemented by Native Andean potatoes in 2011. 

As we continue growing in the Private Label snacks industry, we opened a new manufacturing facility in July 2015 located in Sangolqui, Ecuador at 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) above sea level. This new manufacturing plant allowed us to enhance our fantastic team with the right infrastructure.  Our state-of-the-art facility and products have many certifications including BRC, GMP, Organic USDA, BASC, Kosher, Non-GMO, and Gluten-Free. Additionally, we got a 99.5% score in a GMP audit for Costco.

Today, our delicious snacks can be found in 30+ countries and in a variety of outlets, such as convenience stores, grocery stores, club stores, drug stores, vending machines, food service operations and airlines.

CERTIFICATIONS

 

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) first introduced its Global Standard for Food Safety, a GFSI benchmarked standard, in 1998. Today the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety has almost 16,000 certified sites in over 100 countries world-wide.


Good Manufacturing Practices is a requirement for manufacturers of foods to assure that the products are of high quality and reduce risks for the consumers’ health accomplishing national and international regulations.


BASC is an international business alliance, created to promote secure international trade in cooperation with governments and international organizations. The system is designed to significantly improve the security practices and deter contraband smugglers and terrorists from using their companies to introduce contraband in legitimate shipments.


Direct Trade is an ethical, responsible and social connection between farmers and manufacturing companies without any intermediaries, in a way that the created value is shared between both parts equally.  Hence, both parts work in a symbiotic relationship, outputting labor and effort in order to maximize the value of the raw material and finished goods, and become dependent on each other´s success.


Organic is a labeling term that indicates that the food or other agricultural product has been produced through approved methods. The organic standards describe the specific requirements that must be verified by a USDA-accredited certifying agent before products can be labeled USDA organic.


The word kosher means proper or acceptable.  Kosher laws have their origin in the Bible, and are detailed in the Talmud and other codes of Jewish traditions.  The Bible lists the basic categories of food items which are not Kosher including certain animals, fish, insects, shellfish and reptiles. In a Kosher product all units and subunits must be Kosher as well.  The OU (Orthodox Union) Kosher is the world’s largest and most widely recognized kosher certification agency.


The Non-GMO certification verifies that a product is made without genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This certification ensures that food and other products comply with standards for non-GMO sourcing, testing, and labeling. Products with this certification undergo strict testing to confirm that they do not contain ingredients derived from genetically engineered crops. The certification is important for consumers seeking to avoid GMOs for health, environmental, or ethical reasons.


The CSA Recognition Seal proves the company's commitment to a quality gluten-free product for celiac and gluten-sensitive individuals. A gluten-free product doesn't contain amino acid sequences in wheat, barley, rye and common oats. CSA Recognition Seal products are tested using the strictest test presently available, the companies submit the analysis of ingredients and manufacturing procedures to assure the products meet the requirements for the CSA Recognition Seal.

 


The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global, multi-stakeholder initiative created to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil through co-operation within the supply chain and open dialogue between its stakeholders. The certification is a seal of approval that the palm oil used in the product is sustainable.

ETHICAL TRADE AND FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS POLICY

The company INDUSTRIA DE ALIMENTOS PROCESADOS INALPROCES S.A., dedicated to the production and commercialization of snacks, seeks the physical and mental well-being of its workers. Therefore, it is committed to providing all the necessary resources to promote, foster, and ensure the following guidelines are respected across all its operations:

  1. Employment by Free Choice:

    a. There shall be no forced or involuntary labor.
    b. The requirement of deposits to the employer is strictly prohibited.
    c. Workers are free to leave their employment, provided reasonable notice is given.

  2. Freedom of Association:

    a. All workers, without any distinction, have the right to freely associate.
    b. No discrimination will be tolerated against representatives of workers' associations.

  3. Safe and Hygienic Working Conditions:

    a. A safe and hygienic work environment shall be provided.
    b. Necessary measures will be taken to prevent accidents and health hazards in the course of workers' activities.
    c. Regular safety and hygiene training sessions will be held.
    d. Medical services will be made available to workers.
    e. Access to clean restrooms and potable water will be provided.

  4. No Child Labor:

    a. The company’s hiring policies and procedures comply with ILO standards, and the hiring of children or young people under 18 is prohibited.

  5. Living Wage:

    a. Wages and benefits are aligned with the current national legal framework.
    b. The recognized and current Unified Basic Salary (SBU) will be respected, and no one shall receive less than this amount.
    c. Clear and comprehensible information will be provided to all workers regarding their salaries, ensuring open access to review their payments.
    d. Wage deductions are not accepted as a disciplinary measure, except in cases explicitly stated in the company's approved internal regulations.

  6. No Excessive Working Hours:

    a. Working hours will comply with the current Labor Code, including overtime, supplemental, and night hours.
    b. Overtime will be voluntary and managed responsibly.
    c. Overtime, supplemental, and night hours will be paid according to legal requirements.

  7. No Discrimination:

    a. All forms of discrimination (on the basis of race, caste, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or political or union affiliation) are strictly prohibited in hiring, compensation, training, promotion, or dismissal.

  8. Regular Employment:

    a. All work performed must be based on recognized employment relationships, established through labor laws and practices.
    b. Practices that contravene or violate the guidelines outlined in our code of ethics and conduct, or national labor laws, are prohibited.

  9. No Inhumane or Severe Treatment:

    a. Physical abuse or punishment, threats of physical abuse, sexual or other harassment, verbal abuse, or other forms of intimidation are strictly prohibited.
